We’re looking to keep this Saturday’s betting action going throughout the day with a four-fold, multi-sport accumulator.
Leg 1 (Rugby) – Back New Zealand (-14 on the Handicap)
It’s an early start for us as New Zealand take on Argentina in Auckland at 8.05am UK time.
There was a shock last week when the All Blacks went down 30-38 to Argentina, but there are now four changes to the team with former captain Sam Cane returning to the line-up. The Pumas have also made changes to last week’s side.
There is a different dimension to this game and it’s expected that, after last week’s humbling, no mistakes will be made by New Zealand this time. They are around 1/8 to win but 10/11 for them at -14 on the handicap looks a reasonable shout.
Leg 2 (Football) – Back Middlesbrough
Boro beat Swansea on the opening day of the new Championship season and they took care of Leeds 3-0 at Elland Road in the League Cup in midweek. Michael Carrick’s side are quality and in fact are now third favourites for the second-tier title.
Derby on the other hand were far too easy to play through at Blackburn last week. If they decide to go after Middlesbrough then the away side may get plenty of joy on the break, though they are capable of breaching the Rams defence anyway.
23/20 looks a more than fair price for Boro to make it 2 from 2 in the league in one of the 12.30 kick-offs.
Leg 3 (Horse Racing) – Back Al Aasy
Newbury’s opening race at 1.15 is the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes over an extended 1m5f. The race has broken up slightly, leaving Al Aasy as a deserved favourite and very much as the most likely winner.
A classy middle-distance horse, he improved markedly from his seasonal debut to land the Group 3 Glorious Stakes at Goodwood, showing a turn of foot to shoot through a narrow gap on the rails.
He’s in great form now, will appreciate the step up in trip and even under a 3lb penalty has more than enough class to take care of Al Qareem and the rest. 7/4 is available early which is a snip.
Leg 4 (Football) – Back West Ham
West Ham begin their Premier League campaign in the 5.30pm kick-off at home to Aston Villa and are around 6/4 going into the weekend.
Villa had a fantastic campaign last time around, finishing in the Champions League positions but they made a slow start last year when going down 5-1 to Newcastle United.
The top ten outfield players of both teams in this game is of about the same worth, while West Ham have home advantage and are looking to make a quick start. They look decent value to win over 90 minutes.
The four-timer is around 18/1 at the time of writing which is great value.
